A process does not help anybody if it is not written down. No matter how smoothly things may be running now, it is only a matter of time before a key employee jumps ship taking process knowledge with them. Without a documented SOP, a procedure can be forgotten or abandoned by the wayside. Then, like a clock with a missing gear, key areas of your business will grind to a screeching halt.
Whether we know it or not, most people have already developed processes for their businesses. The key is to get those processes out of your head and documented in a Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) that your team can share and reference. Erin recently sat down with Dr. Jeremy Weisz from Sweet Process to discuss the importance of a documented SOP. She also shares tips that you can use today to get started.
